Capping Machine Type

 

Spindle Cappers: Also known as roller screw cappers, spindle cappers operate by guiding a bottle and its cap through spinning discs that induce cap rotation. Fully automatic capping systems handle the placement and torquing of caps on containers. Spindle cappers accommodate nearly all shapes and sizes of round lug or screw-type caps, including those with unconventional tips or trigger tops. Automatic spindle cappers can achieve speeds of up to 200 cpm.

 

Chuck Cappers: Chuck cappers function by positioning a cap onto a bottle or container, sending it through the machine where moving components rotate the cap, ensuring a secure seal. An advantageous aspect of this capper is that the bottle or container remains in continuous motion, eliminating the need for line stoppages.

 

Single Head Cappers: Similar to rotary chuck cappers, single head cappers halt the bottle or container at stations to apply caps while the bottle or container stays stationary. This can be designed to be inline, keeping bottles on the main conveyor, or with a star wheel that temporarily removes the bottle or container from the line to secure the cap before returning it.

 

Snap Cappers/Lidders: Utilizing a vacuum collet, Snap Cappers and Lidders pick up the lid and press the snap-on cap or lid onto each passing bottle or container.

 

Servo Cappers: Any capper can be upgraded to a servo-driven system. Servo motors, providing enhanced flexibility, accuracy, and efficiency, offer better spindle control, precise torque application, tighter torque tolerances, and real-time feedback. While not necessary for every application, servo-driven cappers provide significant benefits in certain scenarios.
